RUTH C. HART, age 92, a resident of Charleston died at 5:10 a.m. Monday, October 26, 2009, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 2, 1917 in Wyatt to the late John and Nora Slack Shively. She had lived in Charleston most of her life where she worked for the Brown Shoe Company until her retirement. She was of Catholic belief.
On July 7, 1937 she married Thomas Henry Hart who preceded her in death on January 28, 1985.
Surviving are one son, Thomas L. Hart of Charleston; one daughter, Pat Carr of Charleston; one sister, Lorene Watson of Minneapolis, MN; two granddaughters and grandsons in law, Julie and Brad Twidwell of rural Charleston and Carrie Lynn and Elliott Williams of Cape Girardeau; and two great grandchildren, Johnathan Zirkle of Rural Charleston and Eli Williams of Cape Girardeau.
Three sisters, Zelma Forehand, Daisy Hutcheson, and Dorothy King, preceded her in death.
Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston until the Funeral hour at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Gerald Penn, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church in Charleston, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Brad Twidwell, Elliott Williams, Johnathan Zirkle, Braden Twidwell, Richard Hutcheson, and David Williams.
