Obituary

RUTH WINGER PIERCEALL, age 92, a resident of Charleston, MO, died Sunday, December 14, 2014, at the Charleston Manor.

She was born October 30, 1922, in Belmont, Missouri, to the late Joseph Patrick and Berry Ringo Winger. A graduate of Diehlstadt High School, she attended Murray State College in Murray, KY, then returned to Mississippi County where she taught in the rural schools at 34 Corner, Bridges, Rush Ridge, and Diehlstadt. She also taught at St. Henry Catholic School and was a member of the St. Henry Catholic Church. She dearly loved her family. Ruth started sewing as a young girl and was a very talented seamstress and quilter. She hand made many personal items and clothing for her children and grandchildren through the years. She also made many choir boy robes and a gold embellished tabernacle cover and altar skirt for St. Henry Church special celebrations. She made all of Ted's clown suits that he wore for his popcorn wagon business for several years and also made the wedding gowns for her two daughters.

On May 14, 1946, she married Theodore Anthony "Ted" Pierceall, who preceded her in death on October 5, 2009.

Surviving are: two sons, Denis Anthony Pierceall and Charles Patrick (Bev) Pierceall all of St. Louis, MO; two daughters, Martha P. (Joseph Handy) Moore of Charleston, MO and Mary P. (Terry) Naumann of Belleville, IL; three grandsons and three granddaughters, Daniel Pierceall of St. Louis, Angela Pierceall (Andrew) Malo of Chicago., IL, John Pierceall (Christy) Moore of Cape Girardeau, Anne Moore (Neal) Meyer of St. Louis, David Naumann and Susan Naumann of Belleville, IL.; three great grandchildren, Esme Malo of Chicago, IL and Kateri Meyer and Benedict "Benny" Meyer, of St. Louis.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, George Fredrick Winger and Robert C. "Jim Bob" Winger, and two sisters, Jo Ellen Beck and Mary Doris Zoellner.

A prayer service will be held at 4:00 p.m. followed by visitation until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 18, 2014, at the St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston with Father Patrick Nwokoye, pastor, as celebrant.

Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Denis Pierceall, Charles Pierceall, John Moore, David Naumann, Mike Bryant and Richard Rolwing.
