Sally Sue Basarich, age 78, died Wednesday June 1, 2022, at her home in Charleston MO

Sally was born June 23, 1943, in Granite City, IL, to the late Harold Stewart and Alta Walker Stewart.  Sally graduated from Granite City High School & remained close to her high school friends.  On January 27, 1962, she married Rogers John Basarich, who survives at their home in Charleston.

Sally lived in Granite City most of her life & was an active member of the Nameoki United Methodist Church, The Quilt Guild, and was employed by Schnucks for over 20 years until her retirement. After her retirement she and her husband moved to Rolla, MO, to be near their daughter. While in Rolla she was a member of the OMCC Women's Golf, the P.E.O, and attended Rolla United Methodist Church. In August 2021 she and her husband moved to Charleston, MO

Family was central and important to Sally. With family, Sally enjoyed passing on her legacy through baking and sewing.  She also enjoyed traveling with them and making priceless memories. Next to her family she cherished her friends. She enjoyed her time with them by going to quilting camp, The Azalea Festival, traveling, dinners out and shopping.

Also surviving is her son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Jennifer Basarich of St. Jacob, IL; her daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Greg Luehmann; her grandchildren, Mindi (Kevin) Fitzgerald, Megan (Jacob) Priday, Kati (Tyler) McCann, Courtney (Tim) Lindsay, Michael (Nikki) Basarich, Lacey (Kenny) Compton, Logan Teaters; also, 18 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Micheal Stewart Basarich.

The family will receive friends from 10am until time for the memorial service at 11am, Tuesday June 7, 2022, at the United Methodist Church in Charleston MO. The Rev. J Robert Webster, pastor, will officiate.
