Sandra Kay Donehoo "Sandy", a resident of East Prairie, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025 at the age of 72 at Mercy Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was a beloved mother, mother in law, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, remembered for her warm spirit, generous heart, and unwavering love for her family.

She was born to the late Ama Lea Seals Branum and Orbie Donehoo. She was one of five siblings and is survived by her sister Glenda Morgan and her brother Billy Branum. She is preceded in death by her sisters Shirley Branum and Wanda Rockwell.

She dedicated many years of her life working at the Big Prairie Jaycee Club in Matthews, where her kindness and work ethic touched the lives of many. But it was her family who brought her the greatest joy.

She was a devoted mother to Shawna (David) Aters and Johnnie Smith and lovingly remembered her late son Nolan Smith. Her grandchildren, Cody, Ethan, Kyler, Brianna, Dawson and Kyleigh and great granddaughter, Leeivy, were the light of her life, and she created countless cherished memories with them through her incredible cooking, joyful gatherings, and unconditional love. She shared a special, lifelong bond with her niece Dawn, whom she held close to her heart.

She enjoyed hunting for treasures at flea markets, spending quiet moments with her loyal dog Trixie, and filling her home with the smell of home-cooked meals .

Sandy will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, strength, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until time for the memorial service at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, July 10, 2025, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.   Stanley Triplett will officiate.
