Obituary

Sharon Kay Green, 66, a life-long resident of Sikeston, died Sunday, May 15 at Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was born in Sikeston Jan. 4, 1950 to Dorothy (Lewis) Guess Keller who survives of Sikeston and the late William A. "Bill" Guess who died April 17, 2016. A graduate of Sikeston High School, she had worked as a sales clerk and manager of White's Drug Store, secretary at Blanton, Blanton & Rice Law Firm, secretary and administrative assistant at Jim S. Green Law Firm, manager of the gift shop at Missouri Delta Medical Center and had operated her own floral shop, Flowers to Please. She had been a member of Concordia Lutheran Church and First Baptist Church in Sikeston and was a former member of the Red Hat Society. She was first married to Charles B. Largent who preceded her in death Nov. 21, 1982. She was later married to Jim S. Green on March 25, 1989 in Cape Girardeau and he survives of the home. In addition to her husband and mother she is also survived by her step-mother, Sue Guess of Sikeston; 4 sons and 3 daughters-in-law, Steven & Laura Green of Cape Girardeau, Jeffrey Green of Cape Girardeau, Chuck & Bethany Largent of Draffenville, KY and Bill & Brandi Green of Cape Girardeau; one daughter & son-in-law, Melissa & John Strickert of Jackson; 2 brothers Mike (Jennifer) Guess of Denver, CO and Steve Guess of Grand Junction, CO; 1 sister, Linda (Don) Russell of Albuquerque, N.M.; 7 grandchildren Katie & Doug Overby of Denver, Carrie Brown of Cape Girardeau, Megan & Jordan Janet of Jackson, Jared Green of Chesterfield, Chelsi Bradley of Scott City and Jacob Largent and Jack Largent of Draffenville; and 4 great-grandchildren, Mattox Overby of Denver, Jay Meador of Scott City and Hattie Janet and Libby Janet of Jackson. Visitation will be Thursday, May 19, at First Baptist Church from 10:00 am until time for memorial service at 11:00 am with Rev. David Ross, the pastor officiating.
