Sharon Holifield Payne

Sharon Evonne Payne, age 76, of Sikeston, died Monday, August 29, 2022, at her home in Sikeston.
She was born November 19, 1945, in rural Charleston, MO, to the late Amos Holifield and Blanche Alvey Holifield.   She had lived in Charleston and Bertrand most of her life and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bertrand.   She moved to Sikeston recently to be near her daughter.   For over 28 years, she was employed as a nurse in the Dialysis unit at Missouri Delta Medical Center until her retirement. She was a member of the Bootheel Quilt Guild.

Surviving are her children, Rhonda (Steve) Nolen of Sikeston; Clifford (Sherri) Payne of Pueblo West, CO and Cyndi (Mark) Lynch of Colorado Springs, CO; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Donnie Holifield, David Holifield, Leonard "Sonny" Holifield, Andy Holifield, Jim Holifield, Betty Fair and Mary Eftink.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 1, 2022, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.   Rev. Gerald Collier will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
