Sheila Vinson Harrison

Sheila Vinson Harrison, age 67, passed away Monday, January 12, 2026, at her home in Charleston, surrounded by her family.

She was born November 29, 1958, at Charleston, to the late Melvin Curtis Hedge and Bertha Allene Vinson.  She was a very strong woman like her mother Bertha Hedge.  She loved fishing, watching races and enjoyed tending to her fairy garden.  She was full of life, cared deeply for her family and loved her grandkids. To know her was to love her.

Surviving are her children Shawna Marie (James) Murray, Brandy Mae (Dale) Haynes, LeRoy James (Nicole) Blasingain, Lance (Audra) Tubbs and Mychala Lynn Hedge; her bonus children April Williams, Jason Alan Tubbs, Abigail Funderburk, Johnny Buck Miller, Joel Foster, Jennifer (Willy) Edwards and Jessica Groves; grandchildren Stephen (Ani) Adams, Heather (John) Shadder, Kaitlyn Campbell, Bryan Campbell, Corey (Amber) Hurt, James Murray Jr., Justice Murray, Jamey Ja'Kila Vinson, Jakavious Kavon Vinson, Dakavion Ladale Vinson, Ashli (Daryl) Riley, Austin Blasingain, Connor Tubbs, Hayden Williams and Emili Williams;  great grandchildren Rae'lynn Miller, Zayden Ace Miller, Abigail Shadder, Elizabeth Shadder, Tybee Shadder, Christopher Shadder, Alexander Shadder, Kaiser Campbell,  Zoey Campbell, Jaiden Campbell, Kylie Riley, Kaylee Riley, Christian Riley, Ember Peiffer, Maddie Hurt, Logan Hurt, Mason Hurt and Harper Hurt; a special cousin Linda Kay Teague, a special nephew Matthew (Dezma) Jarrett; siblings Rhonda Lynn Passley, Donna Kay Jarrett, Kimberly Ann Riley and Tina (Stephan) Hedge-Willis along with a bonus sister Tammy Vanpool.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son James Robert (Jamey) Blasingain, grandsons Christopher Dylan Vinson and Aceston John Miller, brothers David Curtis Hedge and Larry Martin Hedge, sister Karen Regina Hedge and an uncle, Tony Keith Vinson.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at noon on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Edward Jarrett, Matthew Jarrett, Ladale Haynes, Jakavious Vinson, Jeremy Weber, Daryl Riley and Willy Johnson.
