SHELBY FOX

LESLIE SHELBY FOX, JR., Age 51, died at 1:40 a.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at his home in Charleston, Mo.

Born January 18, 1958 at Cairo, IL to Leslie Shelby Fox, Sr. who survives of Charleston and the late Alice Lee Burnett Fox, he had lived in Charleston his entire life and was a 1976 graduate of Charleston High School and had attended the Mississippi State University. Engaged in the family farming business, Fox Farms, he was honored in 1990 by the Mississippi County Chapter of the University of Missouri Extension Office. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Charleston, the Charleston V.F.W. Post #4294 and had served as a room father and classroom volunteer at the Hearnes Elementary School in Charleston. He enjoyed cooking and was an avid camper.

On March 31, 1985, he married Donna James, who survives of the home.

Surviving besides his wife and father are: two daughters, Alison Nicole "Ali" Fox and Maggie Elizabeth Fox both of the home in Charleston.

One sister, Mary Alice Fox Brutsche, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 30, 2009 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Visitation will then continue Friday, July 31, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Charleston from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Dan Faust, pastor, will officiate. A eulogy will be offered by John Moreton.

Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Clark Dugan, Charles Moxley, Greg Luehmann, James Bain, John Moreton and Robert Jackson.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Brett Matthews, Eddie Marshall, Michael Jones, John Barrett, Jeanne Burke, Karen Bain and Sue Luehmann.
