Shirley Ann Dowdy

SHIRLEY ANN DOWDY, age 85, of Chaffee, MO, died, Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at her home.

Born March 15, 1936, at Dexter, MO, to the late Zalma C. Gaines and Catherine Woods. Shirley worked at Elder Manufacturing Company in Dexter, MO for over 40 years. She was a good-hearted woman who loved life and never met a stranger. Shirley loved watching her soap operas, going fishing and just taking a ride around town.

Surviving is her son, Sam (Cathy) Gaines of Chaffee, MO; one brother, Ronnie (Carol) Gaines of Knobnoster, MO; one grandson, Ron (Angie) Schrum of Kelso, MO; one granddaughter in law, Nicki White of Chaffee, MO; 7 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Bobby Joe Dowdy; one grandson, Timothy Schrum; five brothers, Ray Woods, Wayne Gaines, Richard Gaines, and John Bill Gaines; and one sister, Nancy Tilley.

Private family services will be held.

McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
