SIDNEY HAROLD DRUMMOND, age 85, a resident of East Prairie, died Thursday, September 5, 2019, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.
Born May 17, 1934, at East Prairie, MO, to the late Thurston Bradley Drummond and Minnie Maude True Drummond, he was a 1952 graduate of East Prairie High School where he proudly played on the football team that beat Charleston. He had lived in East Prairie his entire life where he had served as an Alderman and Police Judge and was a member of the James Bayou Catfish Cookers. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army and then the U.S. Navy, and had been employed with Noranda until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of V.F.W. and had attended the Charleston Church of Christ.
On October 19, 1962, he married Janice J. Scott, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are his daughter, Leigh Ann Drummond Colson and her husband, Joey Colson of Dogwood; two grandsons, Riley Joseph Colson and Brady Chandler Colson; his brother, Larry Drummond of LaCenter, KY and his sisters, Lois Edwards and Sue Thresher, both of East Prairie.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, September 7, 2019, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, September 8, 2019. Pete Nuthak will officiate.
Interment with full military honors will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Keith Edwards, Chris Drummond, Clay Eaves, Brent Thresher, Ryan Edwards and Lawson Thresher.
