Elmer L. "Sonny" Johnson, 76, died at his home in Sikeston Monday, July 8, 2013. He was born Jan. 13, 1937 at Senath to the late. Omal & Opal (Ferguson) Johnson. He owned and operated Johnson House Moving Co. of Sikeston for approximately 50 years, where he provided outstanding service to his customers. The past 5 years he worked at Mid-Town Motors transporting cars. He was married to Malinda Foster Johnson Sept. 3, 2006 and she survives of the home. Also surviving are one son, Bruce Johnson of Sikeston; two daughters and 1 son-in-law, Tammy & Elven Baker of Sikeston and Michelle Fayette of Sikeston; 3 grandchildren, Zachary (Brittany) Fayette of Sikeston, Matthew (Rhonda) Dockins of Scott City and Myka (Charles Williams) Dockins of Scott City; and 2 great-grandchildren, Emily Dockins and Davalyn Williams both of Scott City. He was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Carmen Dockins, 1 brother, Joe Johnson, and 1 sister, Faye Morgan. Friends may call at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 4:00 pm until time for Memorial Service at 5:30 pm Thursday, July 11. Bill Ferrell will offer the eulogy. He was a respected man of the community, loved by his family and friends, whom he loved. He liked well-mannered children, fine cars, and nice dogs. We will all miss him Dearly!
