Obituary

STANFORD EUGENE 'STAN' HARPER, Age 77, a resident of Bertrand, died Saturday, March 21, 2015, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born January 31, 1938, in the Bridges Community of Mississippi County, MO, to the late Dewey and Fannie Anderson Harper. He was a member of the Cornerstone Church in Bertrand, MO. He was very devoted to his church and was instrumental in the remodeling of the church when it began. He was produce manager at Town and Country Supermarket in Charleston before his retirement and had spent many years on a route for Bunny Bread Company and Prairie Farms Dairy. His yard and flowers, the St. Louis Cardinals and Kentucky Wildcats were his pastimes. He was a godly husband, father and grandfather.

On December 2, 1960, he married Connie Stallings, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are one son, Randy Harper of East Prairie; one grandson, CJ Harper of Jackson, MO; one granddaughter, Lexi (Danny) Davenport of Jackson; one great grandson, Drayke Davenport and one great granddaughter, Myla, both of Jackson; three brothers, Paul (Pam) Harper of Birmingham, AL; Dewey (Brenda) Harper of Sikeston and Gary (Kitty) Harper of Bertrand; one sister, Pansy (Harry) Buchanan of Cottage Hills, IL; several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Ranessa Harper; two brothers, Ed Harper and Vernon Harper and one sister, Virginia Harper.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at the Cornerstone Church in Bertrand. Rev. David Cullen, pastor, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Armer Cemetery near Bertrand under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Randy Harper, CJ Harper, Gary Harper, Sr., Paul Harper, Brian Harper and Danny Davenport.
