Stephen Curtis Butcher, Sr., 63, died at his home in Jacksonville, Florida, Monday, July 10. He was born September 29, 1953 in Rockford, Illinois to Martha L. (Drane) Butcher who survives of the home in Jacksonville and the late Curtis Finley Butcher. He received his B.S. Degree from School of the Ozarks. A former member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Sikeston he had been Co-Owner and operator of B & H Metal Finishing in Sikeston from 1987-2005 and then taught criminal justice at Sikeston High School from 2005 until his retirement in 2015. On June 17, 1978 he was married to Beth Lauraine Bolte,, in Marshfield and she preceded him in death June 25, 2007. In addition to his mother, Steve is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Aimee & Eric Kimball of Jacksonville; 1 son, Stephen C. Butcher, Jr. of Las Vegas, Nevada and 2 grandchildren Garrett Kimball and Ava Kimball both of Jacksonville. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by 1 brother, Douglas Ray Butcher in 1975. Visitation will be at Blanchard Funeral Chapel , Friday, July 14, from 11:00 am until time for services at 2:00 pm. Rev. Robert Kriete, a retired Lutheran minister from Union, MO will officiate. Interment committal services will be held Saturday at 10:30 am at Turkey Creek Cemetery at Ava MO. with J. Mark Wilson, Steve's cousin officiating. under the direction of Blanchard Funeral Chapel.
