RICHARD STEPHEN MILLER, age 77, a resident of Charleston died Saturday, March 14, 2020, at his residence.

He was born November 28, 1942 in Cape Girardeau to Roy Sterett Miller and Gail B. Miller Davis. A 1960 graduate of Charleston High School, he attended Vanderbilt University and Southeast Missouri State University. He enlisted in the MO National Guard where he obtained the rank of Captain and served as Company Commander in Charleston, Sikeston and Portageville.

On December 18, 1968 he married Marilyn Maevers who survives of the home.

Also surviving are one daughter and son in law, Laura and Dale Hughes of Cincinnati, Ohio; and one son and daughter in law, Reid and Jacquie Miller of Belmont, Mississippi.

He was preceded in death by his father, who was killed in action during WWII, his mother, and his stepfather, Robert R. Davis.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 11:00 a.m. until the Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. Rev. J. Robert Webster, pastor of the Charleston United Methodist Church, will officiate.
