Stephen Wayne "Steve" Lawson, 60, formerly of Sikeston and Cape Girardeau, died Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Chaffee Nursing Center. He was born August 11, 1956 in Sikeston to the late Charles M. and Wanda Marie (Edwards) Lawson. A resident of this area most of his life, he was of the Baptist faith, and had been employed as a extruder operator at Essex Wire and later at Southeast Missouri Hospital as an administrative assistant. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Brent Blanchard of Delaware, Ohio; his step-mother, Carolyn Lawson of Sikeston; 2 step-sons, Jason Beard of Kinston, North Carolina and Eric Beard of Cape Girardeau; 6 brothers: Charles Michael Lawson of Lewiston, Idaho, Terry Mark Lawson of Sikeston, Thomas Dale Lawson of Knoxville, TN, Keith Lawson of Sikeston, Kevin Lee Lawson of Albany, Georgia and Samuel "Bo" Canoy of Kennett; 2 sisters, Cherie Fowler of Memphis, TN and Audra Perry of Steele. Also surviving are 2 grandsons, Nicholas Beard and Owen Beard and 3 granddaughters, Hannah Beard, Delaney Blanchard and Leighton Blanchard. Visitation will be Sunday, April 23 at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 1:00 pm until time for memorial Service at 2:00 pm with Rev.
