STEPHEN RAY "STEVE" MURRAY, age 66, of East Prairie, died Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at his home in East Prairie.

Born May 31, 1954, at Cairo, IL, to the late Hank Murray and Betty Sue Whitaker Murray, he had lived had lived in East Prairie the past several years. He had worked in law enforcement and was a U.S. Marine Veteran and later a U.S. Army Veteran. Always a dreamer, he loved to travel a lot and see as much of the country as possible. He was known for his kind and good heart and always had a smile on his face. He loved to sing and play the guitar.

He was married to Judy Murray, and she preceded him in death.

Surviving are his sisters, Gwen Norris Of Junction City, KS; Tonya Seaborne of Wickliffe, KY and Donna Martin of Texas City, TX; also, several nieces and nephews.

Friends may gather after 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, with full military honors, at the Mound City National Cemetery at Mound City, IL., under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
