Steven Wayne Rose, age 64, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at his home in Thayer, MO.
Born February 10, 1961, at Sikeston, MO, to Carl F. Rose, and Marie Bynum Rose, Steve was a man of quiet strength and many talents, known for his hardworking nature and the skill of his hands. Over the years, he worked as a certified mechanic, farmer and construction worker -roles that reflected both his dedication and his ability to build, fix, and provide.
Steve had a deep appreciation for cars and motorcycles, and especially the thrill of driving them fast. More than anything, though, Steve valued the time spent with people he cared about. Whether among friends or family, he found his greatest joy in simply being present with those he loved.
Though he was a man of few words, when Steve spoke, it mattered. His kindness, willingness to help others, and a steady presence left a lasting impression on those who knew him. He was a caring son, a loyal friend, and someone you could count on.
Steve is survived by his daughter, Angel (Stephen) Speer of Rector, AR and his son, Charlie Rose of Edwardsburg, MI; he was a proud grandfather to Bailey (Tyler) Watson, Makenna Speer, Caidyn Speer, Carlie Braden, Skyla Rose and great grandfather to Levi Watson and Henry Watson;
Additional survivors include his father, Carl F. Rose of Charleston, MO; his mother, Marie Bynum Rose of Rector, AR: his brothers and sister, Danny Rose of Charleston, MO; Michael Rose of Matthews, MO; Lisa (Tom) Seal of McDougal, AR and Carl E. (Drew) Rose of Sikeston. Also, number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles L. "Charlie" and Irene L. Newman Rose and Robert and Mable Hendrix Bynum; his half-sister, Mary Ann Davis, his half-brother, James Anthony Seagroves, and his stepmother, Mary F. "Fran" Crosno Rose.
Steve held a very special place in his heart for his dog, Rhino.
Private graveside services will be held at Dogwood Cemetery.
McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
