SUE HOPPER

ZALLIE M. "SUE" HOPPER, Age 79, a resident of Charleston, died Sunday, April 22, 2018, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born June 17, 1938, at Light, Arkansas, to the late William Robert Slayden and Myrtle Elizabeth Crisel Slayden, she had lived in Charleston most of her life and was one of the first female bail bondsmen in Mississippi County.

On September 17, 1954, she married John V. "Dugan" Hopper, who survives of the home in Charleston.

Also surviving are one grandson, Zach (Megan) Scott of Cape Girardeau; one sister, Mary Morris of East Prairie; special family friend, Henry Franklin of Sikeston; also a number of nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Darlene Michelle Hopper Scott; two brothers, Eugene Slayden and Richard Slayden and by one sister, Hallie Kimbrel.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
