Susan Jean Dark Bruenderman
Susan Jean Dark Bruenderman, age 78, of Charleston, died Sunday, June 23, 2024, at the Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston.
Born September 1, 1945, in Cape Girardeau, MO, to the late Charles Evans Dark and Wilma (Bill) Dark Heckman. She attended Charleston High School in Charleston, MO.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Charleston.
She was married to Donnie Bruenderman, and together they had a daughter who survives Tammy Bruenderman Schroepfer, Charleston, MO. Also survived by 3 grandchildren, Madeline Schroepfer Daum (Rick), Kansas City, MO, Brendan Schroepfer, Dallas, TX, and Clayton Schroepfer, Waco, TX. One brother Joe Dark (Barbra) of Sarasota, FL. One special niece Kimberley Dark Stockdale (Eric), 2 great nieces, great nephew and many cousins. Her two bonus daughters Jackie Farmer Unnerstall, Washington, MO and Loraine Farmer Hale, Murfreesboro, TN, and former husband Donnie Bruenderman, Charleston, MO.
A special host of friends: Bonnie Hurley Woods, Brenda LaPlant French, Carol Babb Draffen, Carol Williams Callan, Donna Shew Acreback, Nancy Allen Bone, Judy Nunnelee Leigh, Kathy Day Hurley, Margaret Lankheit Moore, Pam Moss Bitza, Pauletta Russell Seago, and Vivian Hough Downing.
Susan adored her grandchildren who called her "Mayme". She loved spending time with them in Texas before her health started to decline. They all loved to play board games however, Susan didn't like to lose! They had many good times and lots of laughs!
Susan has lived at Charleston Manor since 2014, she was a very positive influence on the other patients. She thoroughly enjoyed the games and visiting with the others.
A special Thank You to Charleston Manor and Clearview Nursing Facility. Also, our sincerest thanks to Crown Hospice for the love and care given by all.
A private memorial will be held under the direction of McMikle Funeral home with burial at IOOF Cemetery. Rev. Gerald Collier will officiate.
