Obituary

SUZANNE E. HEARNES, of St. Louis died on Thursday, November 21, 2013.

Survived by her husband of 52 years Richard Warren "Dick" Hearnes, dearest mother of Heather (the late Michael) Kelley, of Webster Groves, and Leslie (Marty) Huggins, of Kirkwood; dear grandmother of Sarah Kelley, Marshall and Ellie Huggins; dear daughter-in-law of the late Richard "Rich" and Dorothy Brown Hearnes, she was our dear aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend to many.

Born in Louisville, KY, she was the valedictorian of her Fort Knox, KY High School; received an AA degree from Columbia College, Columbia, MO and then a BA degree in 1979 from Webster University. Suzanne worked for Meramec Community College in Admissions/Registration, St. Louis County Department of Highways/Traffic; and Shriners Hospital for Chrildren. Suzanne was an active volunteer for the Kirkwood School District, Keysor Elementary, 15 years with Meals on Wheels, charter member of the Kirkwood Treekeepers, a library assistant at Laumeier Sculpture Park, a shopkeeper for Friends of Kirkwood Library Greentree Books as well as numerous other St. Louis charitable organizations. She was a member of Eliot Unitarian Chapel since 1967.

Services: A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 14, 11:00 am at Eliot Unitarian Chapel, 100 S. Taylor Ave., Kirkwood, Mo. Memorial Visitation from 10:00 am until time of Service.

A graveside committal service will be held Sunday, December 15, 1:30 pm at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Charleston, MO.
