Taylor Edward Duncan
Taylor Edward Duncan, 90, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on July 19, 2022 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.
Taylor was born on April 30, 1932 in Linden, TN. He was the only child of Audley Duncan (d. 1935) and Sarah Stephens Duncan Emerline (d. 2015).
In Hernando, MS on August 24, 1953, he married his first love, Bobbie Joyce Springer Duncan (d. November 19, 2012).
Taylor and Bobbie lived in Kansas City, MO; Rich Hill, MO; Gideon, MO; and Sikeston, MO — filling each home with love, flower gardens, homegrown vegetables, and God's Word.
After retiring from his 25-year career at Noranda Aluminum, Taylor enjoyed carpentry and woodworking. He found fulfillment in his lifelong passion for the outdoors. When he wasn't bird-watching from his porch swing or tending to his lawn, landscaping, and flowers, he could be found planting, watering, harvesting, and preserving his award-winning vegetables. He blessed neighbors, friends, and family with the fruits of his labor — never allowing visitors to leave without a smile and an armful of produce.
Bro. Duncan was steadfast in his Christian faith. He attended Heartland Harvest Church in Sikeston, MO. Each year, he looked forward to Jimmy Swaggert Campmeetings in Baton Rouge, LA.
He is survived by four children: Cathy (Tom) Richter of Freeport, FL; Karen (Harvey) Hull of Essex, MO; David (Hilary) Duncan of Dexter, MO; and Dennis (Michael Dekeyser) Duncan of Sullivan, MO; six grandchildren: Kimberly (Chi) Richter of Austin, TX; Ali (Matthew) Warrick of Freeport, FL; Nathan (Linda) Hull of Essex, MO; Kim (Joshua) Paul of Bloomfield, MO; Craig (Chelsey) Duncan of Dexter, MO; Lindley (Chad) Smolinski of Nashville, TN; ten great-grandchildren: Thomas Warrick; Haydn, Shane and Aubrey Hull; Duncan Paul; Cali, Kali and Lainey Duncan; Miller and Crew Smolinski; and 3 half-siblings: Janie Clawson, David Emerline, Annie Sloan.
Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Esther Springer, granddaughter-in-law, Jessica Cato, and 6 half-siblings: Elizabeth, Naomi Ruth, Johnny, Samuel, Billy, and Janette.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston, MO. The family will receive friends for 1 hour before the service from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Pastor Todd Crumley of Heartland Harvest Church will officiate.
Taylor Edward "Eddie" Duncan's final resting place will be at his wife's side at Memorial Park in Sikeston, MO.
Pallbearers will be Craig Duncan, Haydn Hull, Shane Hull, Joshua Paul, Chad Smolinski and Matthew Warrick.
Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Hull and Duncan Paul.
