In Loving Memory of Terresa Ann Garner Smith

Terresa Ann Garner Smith, born December 14, 1961, in Sikeston, Missouri, passed away, Saturday, August 29, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of curiosity, generosity, and deep love for her family.  She was the beloved daughter of the Willene McCloud Garner and Donald Ross Garner.

Throughout her life, Terresa embraced a variety of careers, always eager to take on new challenges and expand her horizons. An avid reader, she possessed an inquisitive mind and deeply enjoyed engaging in lively discussions about historical events and diverse religious beliefs. Terresa’s final act of generosity perfectly reflected her thoughtful nature; while researching end-of-life options, she chose whole-body donation as a meaningful way to give back to the world. It was her sincere hope that her choice would encourage others to consider whole-body donation as a way to advance medical science and help future generations.

In the early 1980s, Terresa married Eric Reeves Smith, who survives of the home. Together, they built a life and a family filled with cherished memories. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons, Troy Smith of East Prairie, Missouri, and Deric Smith of St. Louis, Missouri; her daughter, Melissa Danial Bashear of Arkansas; her seven grandchildren, Seevin, Phoenix, James, Anthony, Kylia, Kelly, and Michael; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, Todd Garner and Kip Garner.

Her wishes were not to have any services.
