Obituary

TERRY FINLEY HEQUEMBOURG, age 79, a resident of Charleston, died Friday, December 12, 2014, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born October 18, 1935, in Cairo, IL, to the late Frank and Lorene Thompson Hequembourg. A lifelong resident of Charleston, he was a member of the United Methodist Church and was a 1953 graduate of Charleston High School. He attended University of Missouri before returning to Charleston to begin farming, a passion he pursued until his retirement in 1999. Throughout his farming career he had received various farm related recognitions but was proudest of being recognized by the University of Missouri in 1978 as recipient of their Farm Management Award.

On November 24, 1962, he married Julia Ann Gentry, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are their children, Brad (Susan) Hequembourg of Charleston, Cheryl (Randy) Brent of The Villages, FL, and Mary (Mark) Johnson of Wilmington, NC; three grandchildren, Finley Hequembourg of Charleston, Riley Johnson and Ella Johnson both of Wilmington, NC; two sisters, Karen Clevidence of Charleston and Kay Luttrell of Knoxville, TN; also his mother in law, Frances Gentry of Charleston.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Roland "Kayo" Gentry and two brothers-in-law, Dr. Arvell Luttrell and Bob Clevidence.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2014, at the McMikle Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 15, 2014, in the McMikle Chapel with Jim Moreton of Charleston, and the Rev. David Collum, pastor of the Charleston United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Jim Moreton, Reginald Young, Bennie Bruenderman, Cliff Banta, Richard Rolwing and Tom Graham.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Charles Marshall and Donnie Scott.

The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to:
