Obituary

Rev. Thomas Carl Beeler, age 73, of Sikeston, died Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at the Missouri State Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

Born October 10, 1948, at Cairo, IL, to the late William Roger Beeler and Olive Blanche Gardner Beeler, after high school he joined the U.S. Navy. However, Tom's true calling was his church. Tom became a United Methodist minister in the state of Louisiana where he first served at Pearl River Church beginning in June of 1980.  He went on to serve several United Methodist congregations in the state of Louisiana until his health made him unable to serve as a full-time pastor.  At that time, he and his wife returned to Sikeston, MO to be close to family.   Tom has lived at the Missouri Veterans home since 2013.

On August 20, 1976, he married Julia Lamb Beeler, who preceded him in death on April 20, 2012.

He is survived by his sister, Peggy Klein of Cairo, IL; a very special aunt, Linda Jobe and her son, Mike of Sikeston, MO; nieces, Amy Farrow of Cairo, IL; Laura Hunter of Carterville, IL and Rebecca Folse of Robert, LA; nephews, Bryan Klein of Cairo, IL; Robbie Huddleston of Beaumont, TX and Josh Huddleston of Bossier City, LA.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marsha Huddleston.

Family and friends may assemble services at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 10, 2022, in the chapel of Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO.   Rev. Roy "Buddy" Walls, will officiate.

The United States Navy and the Missouri Military Honors program will provide full military honors.

A facial mask or covering is required to enter the cemetery chapel.

McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
