Thomas Donald Hudspeth, 73, formerly of Sikeston, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2015 at Heritage Nursing Center at Sterling Ridge in Omaha. He was born December 29, 1943 in Petersburg, IL to the late George and Alice (Burnett) Hudspeth. He graduated from Petersburg Harris High School and the University of Illinois. He began working at New Salem Lodge before becoming administrator of Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg. He managed facilities throughout the Midwest, eventually ending his career as a Chief Operating Officer of Health Systems, Inc. He was a member of Clinton Masonic Lodge #19 in Petersburg and Ararat Shrine in Kansas City, MO.; he had been a member of Sikeston Kiwanis Club and Sikeston Elks Lodge; was a member of Lake Christian Church at Lake of the Ozarks, and had attended St. Luke's Orthodox Anglican Church in Sikeston. He was married to Janet Eileen Tice June 11, 1966 in Petersburg and she preceded him in death July 12, 2014. He is survived by one son, Christopher Thomas "Chris" Hudspeth of Metropolis, IL; one daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Mike Wincek of Omaha; two grandchildren Michael and Kate Wincek of Omaha; and one sister, Annette Cramer of Phoenix, AZ. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, John Hudspeth and Edward "Bud" Hudspeth. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the Greenview United Methodist Church in Greenview, Illinois with Rev. Stephanie McCullough, the pastor officiating.
