Obituary

THOMAS LAVERN "TOMMY" CLARK, age 80, died Thursday, June 2, 2011, at his residence in rural Bertrand.

He was born July 7, 1930 in Mystic, IA to the late Clarence and Nina Millizer Clark. He had lived in Missouri most of his life moving to Bertrand in 2010. A U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, he had been employed as a coal miner and then as a farmer until his retirement. He was of Pentecostal faith.

Surviving are one son and daughter in law, Omer and Karen Clark of Bertrand; one daughter, Wanda Clark of Booneville; three sisters, Donna (Bob) Stottlemyre of Kirksville, Ila (Ervin) Breon of Hedrick, IA, and Virginia (Darryl) Arseneaux of Portage, MI; one brother, Clarence (Jan) Clark of Cedar Park, TX; four grandchildren, Linkastar Clark and Raymond Clark both of East Prairie, Christopher Clark of Moberly, and Chad Clark of Columbia; one step grandson, Jason (Lora) Estes of Charleston; also three great grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Steven L. Clark and Thomas L. Clark, Jr., and two sisters, Ethel Brooks and Clarice Brown.

Visitation will be held at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston on Monday, June 6, 2011, from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Randy Wright of Malden will officiate.

Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be David G. Achter, Jason Estes, Ronnie Estes, Ben Heil, Allen Jones, and Dennis Rolwing.
