Obituary

Thomas "Tom" Earl Crandall, 67, of Bertrand, died Friday, December 18, 2020, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.

Born September 22, 1953, in Rockford, IL, to the late Earl Crandall and Colleen Kane Crandall. He had lived in Illinois and tried to live in Florida, but it was too hot, so he settled in Bertrand, MO. Thomas was employed at places such as, Barrel Pencil and Barbara Coleman and eventually retired, but continued to work at Lowe's.

On June 27, 1987, he married Shirley Maxine Malone, who survives of the home.

He was a Corvette and Harley Davidson lover, and enjoyed spending time with his children. In 2001, Tom's son, Jeremy was held captive by the government of China after an American spy plane collided with a Chinese jet fighter over the South China Sea. After a great apology from the American government, he was released. This was such a huge relief to Tom. The whole family then got to enjoy a Cubs game, where Jeremy got to throw the first pitch.

Also surviving are their children, Ryan (Terra) Crandall of Rockford, IL; Jeremy (April) Crandall of Virginia; and Tammy; grandchildren, Boston, William, Cameron, Lincoln and Tonya; great grandchildren, Imigin, Yiana, Kingston and Gunner; and one brother, Patrick Crandall of Rockford, IL.

At this time there will not be a service out of concern due to COVID. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston.
