IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tommy C.
Romines
June 21, 1946 – November 18, 2020
Thomas 'Tommy' Carl Romines III, 74, of Matthews, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 18, 2020.
Tommy was born in Sikeston, MO on June 21, 1946 and was the eldest son of the late Carl and Maxine Romines of Matthews, MO. Tommy was a resident of Matthews for most of his life where he spent countless hours on the farm or at one of the local cotton gins. He dedicated his life to agriculture, during which he owned his own custom cotton-harvesting business, operated a fruit stand while living in the Rio Grande Valley, ran land graders, operated cotton module trucks, hauled grain and was just simply attached to the land. He had a love for antiques, racing, starched shirts and trucks, but his real passion was all things John Deere.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 15 years, Suzann; his parents, Maxine and Carl Romines; and his younger sister, Carla Jo Filowiak.
He is survived by his youngest sister Kim Mooney and her husband Joe of Charleston, MO; his younger brother John and his wife Kelli of Frisco, TX; and a very special nephew, Matt and his wife Carrie of Jonesboro, AR. He also leaves several other nieces and nephews, along with great-nephew Colten and great-nieces Lillian, Lauren and Laney.
A short visitation will be held Saturday, December 5 from 1pm-2pm at McMikle Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. A funeral service will be held at 2pm and a private interment will immediately follow the service at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
The family is requesting all who wish to attend to do so responsibly by wearing masks and social distancing to the extent possible. For those who are at a higher risk of exposure and cannot attend, please consider a memorial gift to any of the following organizations in Tommy's honor:
