Obituary

Trina Holt Straw, age 76, of Sikeston, died Sunday, November 7, 2021, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born on March 10, 1945, in Ottawa, Il, to the late Floyd and Mary (Heath) Holt.  She attended Morton East High School in Cicero, Il.   Trina spent most of her life working as an accountant, bookkeeper, restaurant owner and also serving as Deputy Sheriff of Mississippi County.

Trina Straw married Gene Straw on August 1, 1986, who survives the home. Other survivors include her brother John Holt of Lawrenceville, GA, daughter Christina Adams (Kevin Hartwick) of Sikeston, Trisha Borgmann (Michael) of Catawissa, Mo, Craig Straw of Nashville, TN and Robbie Sims (Staci) of Sikeston, MO, Grandchildren: Aaron and Joseph Copeland of Round Rock, TX, Colton Straw of Nashville, TN. Will, Kennedi, and Ryan Sims of Sikeston, MO. Trina is also survived by her best friend Connie Bailey and her favorite aunt Margaret Dunbar.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter Laura Copeland of Round Rock, TX.  She was an avid Cardinals fan who deeply loved her family and cherished their times together usually spent over a big bowl of raviolis.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 12, 2021, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.  Rev. Ted Wimberley will officiate.

Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Steve Bailey, Kevin Hartwick, Colton Straw, Will Sims, Mike Borgmann, Joey Seiler and Gerald Copeland.
