Mrs. Tudy Bryant Kennedy was born on October 3, 1951, in Cairo, Illinois. She grew up in Charleston, Missouri on her family's farm surrounded by loving parents and 5 brothers and sisters. She graduated from St. Henry High School in Charleston and later studied at Southeast Missouri State University. She achieved a certificate as a Radiologic Technologist and loved helping patients during her working years. She met the love of her life, Tim Kennedy, and they were married on Valentine's Day 1980. Tim and Tudy led a life of fun and adventure as they traveled extensively around the world. Tudy also loved time with family, cooking, sewing, reading, and being with friends. She was a loving and supportive bonus mom to Laura and Kevin and absolutely adored her 2 grandchildren. Throughout her life Tudy gave of her time as a volunteer with Junior League of Wyandotte and Johnson Counties, Wayside Waifs, KC Hospice, and other organizations.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Fern Bryant; sisters, Margie Abner and Maria Lanners; brother, Matthew Bryant; and niece, Andria Rapert.
Survivors include her husband, Tim; stepdaughter, Laura (Jim) Gabriel; stepson, Kevin Kennedy; granddaughter, Sarah Gabriel; grandson, Daniel Gabriel; brother, Mike (Shirley) Bryant; sister, Mary (Bob) Miller; nieces and nephews, Ann Marie (Todd) Bell, Inga Von Abner Witcher, John Paul (Cindy) Abner, Aaron Rapert, Andy (Elana) Bryant, Myra (Tory) Gunn, David (Lisa) Slaughter, and Bryant (Jeanine) Slaughter; beloved dog, Ziggy; and assistant and friend, Jay Gordon. She will also be remembered by countless friends and relations across the world.
A visitation for Tudy will be held Sunday, November 13, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at McGilley & Hoge Johnson County Memorial Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS 66204. A celebration of life service will occur Monday, November 14, 2022 from 10:00 AM at McGilley & Hoge Johnson County Memorial Chapel.
