Veachel J. Dover, 88, a resident of this area most of his life, died
Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 at Miner Nursing Center.
He was born Aug. 19, 1924 at Easst Prairie to the late John Wesley and Birdie (Cooper) Dover.
He was a veteran of the U.S.Army during WW II and had worked as an auto body repairman. He had been a member of the Morehouse Masonic Lodge.
On Sept. 6, 1945 he was married to Norma Ruth Holyfield in New Madrid and she preceded him in death April 8, 1998. One son, Tommy Lee Dover, preceded in death in 1997.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy & John Keating of Lakeland, Florida; 2 grandchildren, Dr. Amanda Keating of Tampa, Fla. and Tom Dover of Miner. 5 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter also survive.
Friends may call from 1 pm Monday, Dec. 10, until time for services at 2 pm at Blanchard Funeral Chapel. Rev. Liz Banks, pastor of Trinity Chapel will officiate. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories.
