VELIAH ESTER 'BILLIE' ROSSON, Age 82, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the home of her daughter in Charleston.

Born July 23, 1928, at Hamilton, Alabama, to the late Charles Lee and Lucy Ester Jones Simpson, she had lived in Charleston for over 50 years where she was employed for over 36 years at the Brown Shoe Company. In 1996, she moved to Summertown, TN where she was a member of the Summertown Baptist Church.

On November 10, 1944, she married Stevie Rosson, who preceded her in death on November 26, 1984.

Surviving are: one son, Jerry Wayne Rosson of Charleston; two daughters, Betty Fay Housman of Charleston and Connie Stephens of Madison, AL; one brother, Charles Simpson of Southgate, MI; one sister, Betty Jo Roberts of Jacksonville, TN; 11 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.

One son, Michael Dale Rosson; one daughter, Barbara Joan Rosson Brown; one granddaughter, Linda Housman Miller; one great grandson, Ronald Hill, Jr.; one infant brother and five sisters preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 21, 2011. Bro. Raymond Hannah, pastor of the First General Baptist Church of East Prairie, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
