VENA NAOMI DAUGHHETEE, age 86, a resident of Charleston died Monday, September 7, 2015 at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.
She was born January 20, 1929 in Datto, AR to the late Clarence Everett and Pearl Elizabeth Fears Morgan. A graduate of Diehlstadt High School, she lived in Charleston most of her life and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Charleston. She had been employed preparing tax returns for a number of years with White Tax Service.
On December 5, 1946 she married Don Burford Daughhetee, Sr. who preceded her in death on May 29, 1995.
Surviving are two sons, Don (Dorothy Templeton) Daughhetee, Jr. of Sikeston and Tom (Denise) Daughhetee of Charleston; one daughter Susan Hart of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Floyd Morgan of Murphysboro, IL; and two sisters, Dorothy McDowell and Mary Bonifield both of Charleston; seven grandchldren, Don Daughhetee III and Beth (Jerry) Denning all of Morehouse, Rebecca (Luke) Chadwick of Costa Mesa, CA, Joe Hart and Jeromy Hart both of Cape Girardeau, Caleb (Erin) Daughhetee of Cabot, AR, and Adam Daughhetee of Sikeston; also 9 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at the McMikle Funeral Home from 10:00 am until the Funeral hour at 12:00 pm. Rev. David Collum, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Charleston, and Rev. Scott Griffin, pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church in Sikeston, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Joe Hart, Jeromy Hart, Adam Daughhetee, Caleb Daughhetee, Don Daughhetee III, and Billy Miller.
