Obituary

Verna Lee Williams McCullough, age 72, of Charleston, died Saturday, March 25, 2023, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Verna was born October 29, 1950, in Mississippi County, MO, to the late Willie Edward Williams and Daisy L. Willis Williams.  She grew up in East Prairie and attended East Prairie Schools.   She later moved to Charleston where she and her husband Richard owned and operated Richards Service Station many years.  She was a former member of the Charleston VFW.

She was married to the love of her life, Richard Olin McCullough and he preceded her in death, June 12, 2018.

Surviving are her children, Sonya Linley of East Prairie; Michael Williams and Timothy Williams of Charleston and Shelly Stinnett of East Prairie; Kathryn McCullough of Texarkana, TX and Channen (Tammy) McCullough of Queen City, TX; her brother, Larry Gene Williams of East Prairie; her sisters, Kathy Redfering  and Sandy (Keith) Carden, both of East Prairie; eight grandchildren and six great great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward Dean Williams and Ronny Ray Williams and granddaughter, Jessica Ann Pazdera and her great grandson, Casen Cameron.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
