Violet Marie Cates

Violet Marie Cates, age 81, of Charleston, MO, died Sunday, January 26, 2025, at the Aspire Senior Living Center in East Prairie, MO.

Affectionately known as "ReRe", she was born April 22, 1943, in Charleston, MO, to the late Henry Ervin Cates and Violet Norene Simmerman Cates and had lived in Charleston most of her life.

Surviving is her sister, Naoma Fay Cates; her sister-in-law, LaDonna Cates; nephews, Todd and Cory, and niece, Carla, along with a number of great and great great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Ervin Cates and Carl Henry Cates.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 2, 2025, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
