Obituary
VIOLET LORENE HUNT TATUM, Age 79, died Sunday, February 03, 2013 at her home in East Prairie.
Born December 27, 1933, at Matthews, MO, to the late Ely Walker and Rosie Evelyn Snow Hunt, she had lived in East Prairie most of her life.
On October 3, 1956, she married Charles Vernon "Pep" Tatum, who survives of the home.
Also surviving is a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Joy Thurmond; her grandson, Todd Charles Anthony Thurmond; three brothers, Miles Hunt, Tink Hunt and Leaman Hunt and seven sisters, Jewel Hunt, Tropal Hunt, Lois Chapman, Opal Freeman, Layla Bye, Idell Cohen and Shirley Poore.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 4, 2013 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2013. Martin Lucas of East Prairie, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: David Abner, Craig Poore, John Dee Ray, Frank Cohen, Mike Newman and John Travor Ray.
