Violet Stinson Woods, 76, died Wednesday, February 23, 2021, at her home in Lilbourn, Mo.

She was born July 17, 1945, in Parma, MO, to the late George Leroy Stinson and Audrey Ruth Jackson Stinson. Violet was not afraid to work. She was a long time employee of the New Madrid nursing home, as a cook and CAN. She also worked at P & G Gas Station in New Madrid. Violet was a member and prayer warrior of the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ. She enjoyed listening to her gospel music and gospel trivia on the radio. Violet loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Even though she was not much of a traveler, she was fond of the family home in the hills; cooking and having her coffee on the front porch.

Surviving are her children, Nathan (Dana) Woods of Risco, MO; Jerome (Carolyn) Woods of Lilbourn, MO; Cedric (Tiffany) Woods of Farrenburg, MO and Brad (Erin) Woods of Lilbourn, MO; her sisters, Reta (Roy) Taylor of Diehlstadt, MO; Kay (Willie) Harris of Wyatt, MO and Carol (Doyle) Braddum of Eldon, MO; 8 grandchildren, Jonathan Woods, Zachary Woods, Erika Schroader, Kyle Woods, Kali Woods, Chloe Woods, Alyssa Woods and Hayleigh Woods and 6 great grandchildren, Weston Woods, Eliza Woods, Lawson Woods, Sawyer Woods, Cena Woods and Silas Woods.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one infant son, Kevin Woods and two brothers, Ale Lee and Richard Stinson.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at noon, Saturday, February 26, 2022 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, MO. Tyler Schroader will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Berrong Cemetery near Gispy, MO under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.

Pallbearers will be: Zachary Woods, Jonathan Woods, Cody Suggs, David Malone, Nick Malone and Dewayne Taylor.
