Virginia Lee Butrum, 91, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2017 at her daughter's home in Boonville, Indiana. She was born July 5, 1926 in Sikeston to the late John and Beulah (Hampton) Woods. A resident of Sikeston most of her life, she had been an administrative assistant, was a member of the Sikeston Art Guild and was a charter member of New Hope Church (now Crossroads Church); she currently was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Boonville. On Jan. 13, 1949 she married John B. Butrum in Sikeston and he preceded her in death Dec. 16, 2004. She is survived by 1 son and daughter-in-law, John & Sharon Erwin of Battle Ground, Washington; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Janet & Ken Winders of Boonville and Joy and Ken Riddle of Lakeland, Florida; and 1 sister, Rosemary Hubbert of Sikeston. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter. Visitation will be at Blanchard Funeral Chapel Friday Nov. 24 from 5 until 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at Blanchard Funeral Chapel Saturday, Nov. 25 at 10:30 am with Rev. Matthew Butrum, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church of St. Mary and assisted by her great-grandson, Levi Burcham. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery and pallbearers will be Todd Chapman, Casey Chapman, Weston Riddle, Randy Hubbert, Zachery Erwin and Corky Butrum.
