Obituary

VIRGINIA MAE NANCE TOOMBS MANKER, Age 80, died Friday, September 24, 2010 at her home in Wyatt.

Born March 30, 1930 at Sikeston, MO, to the late George Washington and Sadie Singleton Nance, she had lived most of her life in Mississippi County and was of Baptist Belief.

On July 27, 1946, she married Kenneth Toombs who preceded her in death. On August 21, 1972, she married James Manker, who also preceded her in death.

Surviving are: three sons, Paul Toombs and Albert Toombs both of East Prairie and Kennett Toombs of Cairo, IL; three daughters, Patricia Tilley of Bloomfield, MO; Rebecca Wilson of Wickliffe, KY and Dorothy Burcks of Wyatt, MO; 34 grandchildren; 55 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Magdalene Toombs, one grandson, John Charles "R.D." Toombs; four brothers, Elmer Nance, Marvin Nance, Paul Nance and George Nance and five sisters, Dorothy Nance, Helen Polk, Martha Nance, Ruby Nance and Netta Marie Nance.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 27, 2010 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 28, 2010. Rev. Kenneth Gibson, pastor of the New Covenant Pentecostal Holiness Church of Wyatt, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Stacy Gaskins, Harry Gordon, III, Christopher Burcks, Donald Burcks, Sr., Timothy Baker, Dakota Stigall and Harvey Gaskins, Jr.
