VIRGINIA LEE GRIGGS MOSS, age 96, a resident of Charleston, died Monday, November 7, 2011, at the Charleston Manor.

She was born May 30, 1915 in the Birds Point Community of Mississippi County, MO to the late Lee Nathan and Grace May Jones Griggs. She had lived in Mississippi County most of her life where she was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Charleston.

She first married Frank Wilson who preceded her in death; She then married Paul Simpkins who preceded her in death. On October 4, 1968, she then married Ed Moss, who preceded in death on April 15, 1974 .

Also preceding her in death was her sister Earline Manor and three brothers Leonard Griggs, Robert Griggs and Douglas Griggs.

She is survived by one sister Irma Crecelius of Avondale, AZ, four brothers Nathan(Dorothy) Griggs of Brawley, CA; Morris (Charlotte)Griggs , Richard(Peggy) Griggs and Sammy (Annabelle) Griggs all of Charleston; her stepdaughter Nancy Moss Bird of East Prairie, MO and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 10, 2011. The Rev. Mike McKinney, pastor of Southside Baptist and her nephew, Rev. Richard Neil Crecelius, of Avondale, AZ, will officiate.

Interment will follow at the Smith-Griggs Cemetery near Wyatt under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be her nephews: David Griggs, Alan Griggs, Douglas Griggs, Robbie Griggs, Kevin Foster and Scott Brink.
