Obituary

Wallace Reed Hale, Jr., age 62, of Sikeston, formerly of Charleston, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 15, 2023 after a long illness.

Born February 11, 1961, at Wyatt, MO, to the late Wallace Reed Hale, Sr. and Lynda Lou Parker Hale- Davis, Wallace grew up in Charleston and lived there most of his life.   Wallace was a unique and gifted person, certainly ahead of his time.  He was a talented pianist and vocalist, having studied with Dean DeField and Hazel Bouler, as well as voice with Avis Muench.  In his younger days, Wallace could be seen twirling his baton and giving instruction to many young ladies that would later become majorettes for Charleston High School and other area schools and even college level.     Wallace was a kind and accepting soul, and always strived to see the best in others.

Surviving are his sisters, Lori (Jorge) Ferra and Melody (Charles) O'Dell both of Sikeston; his nephews and niece, Brandon (Joyce) Hale, Aaron (Tracy Branson) Hammer, Kayla (Brad) Burton and Brian Austin O'Dell; also, several great nieces, nephews and a number of cousins he loved dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher Carl Hale; his grandmother, Daisy Margaret Johnson Parker and his stepfather, Charles Ralph Davis.

Visitation will be from 5 PM until time for memorial service at 6 PM, Monday, April 24, 2023, at McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Private burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Charleston under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston.
