Mr. Walter Charnell Lewis age 67 of Charleston Missouri, fell asleep in death December 19,2023 at the Charleston Manor in Charleston Missouri.

He was born September 22, 1956 in Wyatt, Missouri to the late Mr. Walter Lee Lewis and Mrs. Mary Alice Lewis. Growing up in Mississippi County, Missouri, he later located to Manitowoc, Wisconsin where he worked at the Manitowoc Shipyards as a welder. While in Chicago Illinois, he began driving trucks, a skill he loved and mastered until retirement.

He was the father of seven children, one proceeded in death (Walter Charnell Lewis Jr), Wendell (Anquinette) Lewis Okinawa, Japan, Caren Lewis Horn Lake, Mississippi, Randall Lewis St. Louis Missouri, Adrian Lewis Charleston Missouri, Brittney Lewis Cordova Tennessee, Chaney(Reginald) Felton Fort Wort Texas. Walter had thirteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren along with a host of nieces and nephews.

He is the eldest of eleven children; Brenda (Anthony) Duncan, Ronald (Kathy) Lewis, Bobby Lewis, Shay(Kay) Lewis, Mirdona Lewis, Linda Lewis, Angela(David)) Hammer, Anthony Lewis, and Venita Lewis Gibson, one brother proceeded in death William D. Lewis

One of the many things that will be missed about Walter is his wonderful sense of humor, unconditional love for his family, and of course his excellent dancing.

A private viewing will be held December 30th, 2023 followed by a celebration of life at the Bowden Center, please be prepared to dance, this is what he wanted.
