Walter J. Rogers, 85, died Thursday May 15, 2014 at Hunter Acres Caring Center in Sikeston. He was born July 15, 1928 in the Sugar Tree Ridge Community of New Madrid County, Missouri to the late Arthur and Clara (Bischer) Rogers. He had worked as a lawn mower and gardener, was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of Henry Meldrum Post of the American Legion. At one time he was married to Nadine (Graham) Rogers. He is survived by 1 son and daughter-in-law, James & Wynette Rogers of Sikeston; 2 step-sons: Dale Graham of Morehouse and Tommy Graham of Commerce; and 2 step-daughters: Joy Iliff of Sikeston and Mamie Graham of Morley. 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive. Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 27 at MO State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield with full military Honors.
