WANDA MAE GAINES PEARSON, Age 81, a resident of Charleston, died at 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born February 3, 1931, at Bernie, MO, to the late William Ezra and Bertha Gladys Douglas Gaines, she had lived in Mississippi County most her life. A born again Christian, she was a faithful member of the Southside Baptist Church in Charleston.

On November 18, 1948, she married John Carl Pearson, who preceded her in death on February 17, 2000.

Surviving are: three daughters and sons in law, Wanda and Charles Williams, Carla and Bobby Norman and Gale and Grayling Nicholson all of Charleston; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lilbourn Gaines and Jessie Gaines and by one grandson, Michael Alton Nicholson.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 02, 2012 at the McMikle Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Southside Baptist Church in Charleston. Rev. Mike McKinney, pastor, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Charlie Williams, Chris Brooks, Bill Shankle, Don McCann, Rocky Walker and Harold McClendon.

Honorary pallbearers will be her granchildren: JC Williams, Heather Carmack, Holly Brooks and Jennifer Nicholson.
