Wanda Faye Pierce Franklin, age 88, of Wyatt, Mo., died Sunday, September 29, 2024, at the Bertrand Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bertrand, MO.

Born November 21, 1935, at Lepanto, AR, to the late Noah Lee Pierce and Lillie Florence Tadlock Pierce, she lived in Cairo, IL for many years before moving to Wyatt over 50 years ago. She was a faithful member of the New Covenant Pentecostal Holiness Church in Wyatt until it's closing.

On August 23, 1953, she married William Lafayette "Bill" Franklin, who preceded her in death September 24, 2008.

Surviving are her daughters, Wilma (Richard) Crews of Benton, KY and Brandi Franklin Dowdy of Wickliffe, KY; her granddaughter, Adriane Denise Pickett and her fiancé, Malcom Lee and their son, Rivers and daughter, Olive all of Boise, ID; and her grandson, William Blaine Dowdy of Wickliffe, KY; her sister, Juanita Terrell of Wyatt; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, William Lafayette Franklin, Jr.; her daughter, Donna Franklin Ashworth; her brothers, Everett Eugene Pierce and Dewey Wayne Pierce; and her sisters, Gereline "Gerri" Terrell Marshall, Nina Lou Rodgers, Janice Gibson and Anna Sue Rowland.

Visitation will be from noon until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Kenneth Gibson will officiate.

Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
