Obituary

WILEY SNIDER, age 70, a resident of Wyatt, died Friday, September 25th, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born on August 4th, 1945 in Cape Girardeau where he was raised by his mother, the late Coleen Wiley Sides, and his step father, the late Dennis Sides. Following his graduation from Cape Central High School he went to work for the Arkansas River Company before enlisting in the US Army where he served in Viet Nam until his discharge in 1968. After his discharge he received his boat license and was employed with the Ohio River Company where he worked in Public Relations, barge maintenance and as a boat captain. He resided in Wyatt, MO where he became a member of Wyatt Baptist Church.

He is survived by Brenda Crain Snider his wife of 46 years.


Also surviving are three children, Amber (John) Williams of Henderson, KY, Tish Snider of Dardanelle, AR, and Dennis (Holly) Snider of Blodgett; one sister, Bonnie Eaves of Cape Girardeau; one brother Stephen Sides of Little Rock, AR; and six grandchildren, Aubrie and Ryan Williams, Dawson and Drew Snider, and Parker and Peyton Ramsey; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Judy Hewitt and Marilyn Morris.

Visitation will be held from 2:00pm until the Funeral Service at 5:30pm on Sunday, September 27th, 2015 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Rev Dean Wallace, pastor of the Wyatt Baptist Church, will officiate.

Military Gravesite Rites will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 29th, 2015, at the Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle, AR. Interment will follow under the direction of the Cornwell Funeral Chapel.
