WILLADEAN TEMPLETON HARPER, Age 91, a resident of Sikeston, died Monday, February 20, 2017, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born April 20, 1925, at Maynard, AR, to the late Aubrey Connor and Valda Dean Kidd Templeton, she had lived in the Bridges Community of Mississippi County and also in Charleston a number of years. She had worked as a cook for the Bridges School and then the Charleston R-1 School District a number of years until her retirement. She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary of Charleston and was of the Methodist Belief.
On August 10, 1943, she married Leland F. Harper, who preceded her in death on September 5, 1991.
Surviving are two sons, William Connor "Billy" (Susan) Harper of Sikeston and James Ray Harper of Sikeston; five daughters, Linda Lou (Clark) Bagwell of Sevierville, TN; Patricia Ann (George) Branum of Enville, TN: Debbie Lynn Stewart, Barbara Jean (Jim) Yancy and Mary Ellen (Steve) Calhoun all of Sikeston; two daughters in law, Barbara Ann Harper of Matthews and Sheila Harper of Benton; one sister, Ruth Ann Crest of Sikeston; 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Leland E. "Butch" Harper, Bobby Dewayne Harper and Ricky Lee Harper; one daughter, Eva Dean Corbell; one daughter in law, Lou Ella Burton Harper; one son in law, Bill Corbell; and one granddaughter, Amanda Paige Stewart; four brothers, Johnny Templeton, Leroy Templeton, James Templeton and Ruben Templeton and two sisters Freda Becker and Ernestine Maxwell,
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at noon, Thursday, February 23, 2017, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Rev. J. Robert Webster, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Charleston, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Harper Family Cemetery at Maynard Arkansas under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Paul Harper, Chad Harper, Justin Harper, Ryan Harper, Mark Curtis, Tim Curtis and Matthew Harper
