WILLIE CHRISTINE HIGDON, age 91, died on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at her residence in Sikeston.

She was born June 15, 1929 in Wilson, Arkansas to Clay and Delfia Cooper Higdon.  Following her graduation from Essex High School, she moved to St. Louis where she was employed with the FB Chamberlain plant and had been promoted to Floor Supervisor before moving back to Southeast Missouri.  A graduate of the Missouri Delta Community Hospital Nurses program, she was employed at the hospital as a nurse until her retirement.  She was a devoted member of The Potters House Church in Sikeston.

Surviving are two brothers, Jerry Higdon and James Higdon both of Sikeston; two nieces, Shirley Williams of the state of Texas and Patricia Nolen of St. Charles; and three nephews, Roger Nolen of Florissant, Mike Nolen and Gregory Nolen both of St. Charles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Inez Nolen, Katherine Higdon, and Ann Higdon; three brothers, Cecil Higdon, Franklin Higdon, and John Higdon; and two nephews, Bill Nolen and Ronnie Nolen.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 21, 2020, at The Potters House Church with the pastor, John Givens, officiating.

Interment will follow in the New Morley Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston.
