Claudia Marie McConachie Arington departed this life on January 5, 2024 in St. Louis, Missouri.
She was born to Eugene Will McConachie and Betty Sue Elmore McConachie on December 4, 1948 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
On August 10, 1991, Claudia married Randall Vernon Arington of the Dogwood community. Their family was comprised of children Paul Harrison Moore, Stephanie Lee Moore Wirken (Chris), Leslie Ann Arington Allgier (John), John Randall Arington (Lauren), and special daughter Laura Brown Moore. Grandchildren include Harrison Hayden Moore, Laurann Grace Aletha Allgier, Layne Riley Allgier, Nicholas Oliver Wirken, Camrynn Blake Arington, and Cadence Elise Arington.
In addition, she is survived by special cousins Reginald and Jane Bock Young, sister-in-law Cherie McConachie and nieces Megan and Erin, the Sandy and Stuart Bain family, and the Carol and Jerry Morris family.
Claudia was preceded in death by her husband and parents, by her brother Lindsay Elmore McConachie, and by her parents-in-law Marjorie and Bill Arington.
Claudia lived a life of service and giving. Among her many activities were Junior Study Club (past president), PEO (past president, Chapter CV), Mississippi County Library Board, Mississippi County Historical Society Board, The Southern Foundation, Molly French Garden Club, and the SEMO Electric Scholarship Committee. Claudia was a lifelong member of the Charleston United Methodist Church, serving on the Family Life Committee and attending Bible Study Group.
Claudia will be painfully missed by her family, friends, church, and community.
There is no visitation.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service that will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 12, 2024, at the United Methodist Church in Charleston. Pastor Scott Moon will officiate.
Interment will be private.
McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
