Hastings
March 21, 1937 – January 29, 2025
Geneva Wallace Hastings, age 87, formerly of Sikeston, died Thursday, January 29, 2025, at her home in Kewanee.
Born March 21, 1937, at the family home near Dorena, MO, to the late Miles A. Wallace and Violet R. Johnson Wallace, she grew up in rural Mississippi and New Madrid County and went on to teach school at Sugar Tree Ridge and Kewanee until starting her family and when her children and grandchildren became her students.
Geneva loved to paint and explore family genealogy but her greatest love was doing things with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Geneva was the perfect definition of a wife, grandmother and great grandmother.

Surviving are her sons, Don (Tammy) Hastings and Wallace (Connie) Hastings; grandchildren, Trey (Lauren) Hastings, Tori Hastings, Jordan (Carly) Lornson, Josh (Katie) Lornson, Jessica (Boone) Thompson, Wally Hastings, Tommy Branum, Kyle (Jerica) Branum, Christian Stallings and Luke Becker; 13 great grandchildren; her sister, Glenda (Barry) Horton; brothers, Milus (Wanda) Wallace and Anthony (Lavonda) Wallace and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kristy Lynn Becker; and her brothers, David Wallace and Jack Wallace and sister, Virginia Greenwood.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 1, 1025, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston. Martin Lucas will officiate.
